The Role

Reporting directly into the Financial Accountant and with two direct reports, your primary focus will be to deliver accurate & timely financial reporting, lead the month-end process & review payroll duties & tax returns across all of the businesses brands. Some of your key responsibilities, but not limited to, would be as follows;

  • Lead month-end
  • Directly manager 2 staff members
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead role in annual audit (internal & external)
  • Review & approve tax returns
  • Review & approve payroll and related matters
  • Oversight of the AP process
  • Process improvements
  • Systems improvements

You, the Ideal Employee

In order for you to be suitable for this type of position you will ideally have a couple of years of experience in a similar type of position, however, you are now looking to step into a management position. You must possess the following technical & personal attributes to be seriously considered;

  • Part or fully CA (or equivalent) qualified
  • Staff supervision or management experience - the ability or desire to be a people leader
  • NZ tax knowledge
  • External audit experience
  • Multi-tasker
  • A self starter with the ability to influence
  • Confident communicator
