I am currently looking for an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable manager with a proven track record of success in managing a team. The purpose of the role is to manage the risk, control, and management reporting associated with the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. This role is responsible for ensuring day to day operational and transformational activities are delivered in the right way. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, this role requires proven experience and well developed people skills with an emphasis on team management. It will offer a wide degree of variety in the tasks you will undertake in an environment which will offer the opportunity to be involved in transformational change in addition to ongoing operational requirements.



  • Responsible for the day to day processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable function, and ensure financial transactions are executed and posted in the ledger in the right way, the right time.
  • Responsible for communication with internal departments regarding transaction processing (e.g. correct details and approvals for payments)
  • Responsible to manage performance of offshore procurement team
  • Responsible for PAYE reporting


  • Responsible for systems change that has an impact to accounts receivable, payable.
  • Process and systems investigation to help strengthen corporate position
  • Develop analytical insights from existing accounts receivable, accounts payable function.
  • Drive continuous improvement of all transaction processes by strengthening controls and/or streamline processes

Risk & Controls

  • Monitor aging of receivable and payable
  • Reconciliation of supplier statement with AP systems
  • Develop and document business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Responsible for strengthening the control function by developing, and execution of policies and procedures
  • Identifying and reporting to management key risks escalating other risks.
  • Manage risk as a core part of their responsibilities.
  • Work closely with finance manager to ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

Experience Desired

  • Financial services industry knowledge and experience - Life Insurance industry knowledge preferred
  • Staff management experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service ethic – internal and external
  • Self-motivation
  • Advanced software knowledge – Excel, Word, Acrobat, SAP (essential)
