The Role

A newly created position as part of the NZ finance team, you will support overseas operations and work closely with other areas of the Finance Team and internal stakeholders, including Sales and Operations. You will need to be proactive, approachable and professional with both internal and external stakeholders. Your key responsibilities , but not limited to, will be as follows;

  • Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files.
  • Allocation of payments.
  • Preparation of bank deposits.
  • Prepare credit card files for receipt of credit card payments.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries including credits.
  • Process adjustments/credits.
  • Collection and follow up of new account contacts and referees.
  • Follow up of customers who are on credit hold and have placed orders.
  • Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or personally.
  • Initiating and following up on collection efforts with customers who are outside of payment terms.
  • Liaising with external collection agencies or lawyers for collection of old debt.
  • Allocate unallocated payments.
  • Send out monthly statements by email.

This role will require somebody who is a self-starter and who can work autonomously. In order to be considered for the role you must possess the following technical and personal attributes;

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Proficient in Word & Excel
  • 3 years accounts receivable and general accounts experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organising and prioritising.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Negotiation & conflict management skills.
