About the organisation

This organisation is crucial to the city of Auckland and the rest of New Zealand. It provides vital services and has international recognition, pioneering ideas and technologies which have since been implemented across the world by others.

The Role

This role will be responsible for managing a team of nine who are currently split in to three teams (integration, support and applications development). You will focus on managing all aspects of the in-house team and oversee software development and integration practices. You will report to the IT Director and closely work with the Enterprise Architect and project teams to deliver solutions that are architecturally compliant and follow the organisations long-term integration strategy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading the development and deployment of new applications, integrations, systems software and/or enhancements to existing applications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of integration and application development practices, API’s, DevOps and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Previous experience working within logistics, transport, supply-chain would be highly advantageous.
  • A proven background compiling to ICT’s standards, policies and architectures.
  • Strong, charismatic leadership and management skills.
  • Proven background managing development team, strategic planning and budgeting, mentoring, recruitment and management of vendors.
  • Experience managing across the development lifecycle following (and/or implementing) agile ways of working.
  • Ability to oversee the collaboration with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Polished communication and interpersonal skills.
