The Company

This company is recognised as one of the leading engineering and design consultancies in New Zealand. They are active in several market sectors; including Land Development, Buildings, Infrastructure and the Environment. Due to increasing workload, they are looking to expand their already successful Christchurch Civil and Land Development team, offering you the chance to join a market leader in this sector.

The team

You will join a high-performing, the open and friendly team where there is an abundance of mentoring and development opportunities. Previous design experience in land development projects in New Zealand or a similar market (with similar design codes) is a must. The ideal candidate will be mature, friendly, open, ambitious, a good communicator, with a bit of life experience and a genuine passion for their professional development.

The Role

This role will give you the opportunity to be heavily involved in civil and land development projects in Canterbury region and South Island, as well as supporting their national capacity.

They are looking for a Senior Engineer who is capable to take the full responsibility for the team and to maintain/ build the relationship with current/ new shareholders (councils, contractors, consultants etc) to deliver the projects on time. You will work closely with their infrastructure and project management team.

The ideal candidate will need to have:

  • At least 7 years experience relevant New Zealand experience, including land development, civil infrastructure and water projects
  • Leadership or people management experience is preferred
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3d and 12d is highly advantageous
  • Proven experience in Landform, Drainage, Roading, Utilities, Consenting, Construction & Contract Management
  • Excellent data analysis, modelling and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, able to build strong internal and external relationships in the local market and the wider industry
