The Role

This is a newly created position with the main purpose of the role being to support the Commercial Manager by providing accurate financial & management reporting, & informative commercial analysis. In particular the role will be responsible for the following:

  • Support to the NZ Commercial Manager & wider finance team in the provision of and analysis of financial and non-financial data for all operations of the business.
  • Development of & management of KPI deck to provide business critical data to support better operational decision making.
  • Balance Sheet reviews with appropriate feedback.
  • Regular financial reporting – weekly and monthly; for local management and for Australia.
  • Provide relevant information, reports & analysis to support operational & functional management.
  • Forecasting & budgeting- Preparation & analysis of annual budgets & regular forecasts
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate cost models.
  • Involvement in tenders responses & legal agreements
  • Ad hoc reporting as required for local or overseas management and for customer reviews.
  • Implement and/or maintain relevant financial processes and procedures.
  • Perform other projects and tasks as directed by the NZ Commercial Manager.

In order for you to be considered for this role, you will not only need the necessary experience but also possess certain interpersonal attributes to help you fit in with the company's culture & share their vision. Some examples of these would be;

  • CA, CPA or equivalent qualified
  • A minimum of 3 years post qualification commercial experience
  • Experience across a broad range of finance & accounting arears
  • Cost accounting & modelling (preferred but not essential)
  • Understanding of commercial agreements
  • Good strategic perspective
  • Exposure to systems implementations
  • Staff management experience (direct or indirect)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • A confident written & verbal communicator, with finance & non-finance stakeholders
