At Randstad we are working exclusively with a well known and iconic New Zealand business to grow their Commercial Procurement capability. A new structure will optimise the delivery of best practice procurement in the corporate services space and strengthen their vendor relationships across the business.

About the role:

In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager - Corporate. You will identify and support the execution of commercial procurement initiatives and strategies across the business (Marketing, People & Communications, Office Support, Property & Facilities, etc). You will be working alongside key stakeholders in the business to gain a solid understanding of their goals and deliver outcomes for these to be achieved. As a true trusted advisor, you will challenge the status quo and not just provide a cookie cutter solution but a commercial business-centric solution that improves our decision making within the business.

As the Commercial Specialist, Corporate you will:

  • Work collaboratively with your customers in the organisation to deliver robust business outcomes while focusing on optimising cost
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Support the design of new or utilise the existing procurement framework
  • Work in collaboration with the Commercial Manager - Corporate to drive an economic commercial strategy moving forward

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience leading contract negotiations for complex projects
  • Have an in-depth understanding and experience in commercial procurement processes and systems
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of procurement and contracts, including legal risks
  • Have a solid understanding of market trends and key vendors
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of business economics modelling, analytics tools and methodologies
  • Strong commercial acumen in disciplines surrounding procurement and business engagement
  • Broad knowledge of corporate environments, business practices and systems
  • Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
  • An attitude of evolution within a business focussed on embedding a change philosophy around performance
