The role

This position will be part of helping this business get to the next level regarding their data management and pipeline. It is to maintain and grow the cloud Azure environment on an Agile way of working. While doing this it is important you have also have the skills to take the wider of the business on the journey. It is important you are technically savvy but can also articulate the reasons and benefits to stakeholders.

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for helping the Data Architect, BI development team to maintain and manage the Azure data environment in the Cloud. You’ll be fine tuning the infrastructure and collecting data from different data sources and make this user ready for the data team.

Good communication skills are key as the team is working in an Agile environment plus you need to have the ability to communicate meaningful data solutions to different levels of stakeholders. It’s is a growing team offering lots of opportunity to discover and explore the world of Data with the support of management to do this.

The requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • C# - debugging, testing and coding
  • MS SQL server
  • Microsoft Azure services (e.g. databricks, Azure SQL, AAS)
  • PowerShell scripting (automation)
  • Performance tuning and metrics
  • Data development and pipelining (Python, R)
  • Acquisition of data from multiple administration systems and toolsets
  • Design, management and tuning of data environments
  • Curious with a track record of helping to thinking laterally to solve problems
  • Agile/Scrum experience

This role would suit someone with a Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science/Engineering degree, a good few years working experience within the data space and exposure in a professional environment to the tools and looking mentioned above
