job description

This award wining company specialise in design and build homes and light commercial projects in the Waikato region. They are actively looking for a team leader to manage their drafting team. Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 years industry knowledge and experience managing others in some capacity.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has good knowledge of the New Zealand construction industry and NZS3604. You will have the ability to create competent technical documentation alongside a passion for brining to life clients vision in the initial design phase. This is a collaborative company where you will be provided ongoing support from the owners. This role would suit someone looking for a step up into a management role or an experienced team lead.


This company are offering a salary up to $90K with the opportunity for progression. They are a family run business and they understand the importance of family life; they encourage their staff to work hours that suit family life or attend the school nativity play/sports day.

Ideal experience for this position:

  • Strong ArchiCAD and 3D modelling skills
  • LBP or willingness to work towards gaining this
  • Knowledge of NZS3604
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry in New Zealand
  • Experience managing staff in some capacity
  • Good communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills

Duties:

  • Taking concept drawings and converting them into an accurate set of architectural and construction drawings and specifications ready for pricing, consent and construction
  • Confident in liaising with councils, engineers, builders and all other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of building materials, their applications and best practices
  • Ability to use the build code to specific correct products while considering environmental use and installation implications
  • Overseeing junior-intermediate staff workload and checking of documentation
