Randstad has an exciting opportunity to work for a well known commercial organisation in Central Wellington as a Finance Manager, leading a team of 8-10 accountants/analysts in a varied and dynamic role. If you’re a current Finance Manager/Team Leader/Financial Controller looking for a new and exciting opportunity with a well-renowned company offering great benefits, then this could be your role.

In this position, you will take ownership of the general ledger, manage month-end and year-end processes, alongside managing external reporting and auditing, all whilst playing a key role in being the group expert for all operational and transactional accounting practises.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting team and end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring that the team are working collaboratively with each other and across the business in order to ensure robust financial processes and results.
  • Manage, assist, coach and develop the finance team to develop technical ability and expertise.
  • Delegate and manage the preparation of financial statements and ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are done accurately and promptly.
  • Monitoring and managing month-end processes alongside the accuracy of the general ledger data.
  • Strive for continuous process improvement in relation to underlying transactions, FMIS applications and end-to-end accounting processes.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with best practise and acting as a subject matter for the group, supporting all key projects from a financial perspective.

Requirements:

  • CA Qualification or equivalent alongside a relevant finance related degree.
  • 5 + years relevant work experience, with at least 2 years experience of leading a finance team to some extent.
  • Experience of financial statement audits.
