A leading NZ Civil Contractor are looking for an experienced HSQE and Stakeholder Advisor to drive the delivery of health and safety, quality, environment and stakeholder practices on a large maintenance contract. Your main focus will be keeping people safe, ensuring quality and environmental standards are adhered to whilst delivering a sustainable and successful project.

As HSQE your main responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Enhancing the positive engagement of and communications with the client and their key stakeholders and customers;
  • Responsible for accurate and timely weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Ensure that all staff and subcontractors to the contract are inducted and are compliant with full PPE.
  • Requesting and checking all subcontractors Health and Safety and Quality documentation prior to starting and liaising regularly with subcontractors Health and Safety Managers, Contract Manager and other Health and Safety Managers.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety documentation is up to date and compliant at all times and maintaining the main excel spread sheet of data.
  • Gathering and recording all incidents, accidents, near misses from internal and external staff. Entering incident information into the AT database.

To be a successful applicant you will ideally have:

  • An aptitude to engage with and connect to/with people from front line teams to customers and across all demographics and cultures
  • The ability to identify safety, quality, environmental or stakeholder impacts and develop and implement cohesive mitigation strategies.
  • The ability to identify opportunities to enhance quality delivery performance or customer experience.
  • Have minimum of two years of road construction or road maintenance industry knowledge and experience
  • The ability to respond to key stakeholder or customer complaints and diffuse conflict situation.
  • Not Essential to have SQE qualifications but relevant experience necessary of a minimum of two years.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is currently working as HSQE Advisor but wants a new challenge. You will be responsible for Health and Safety 80% of the time and Stakeholder management 20% of the time therefore Health and Safety experience is mandatory.
