job description

Since its inception in 1909, Arthur D. Riley & Co. Ltd. (ADR) has been wholly New Zealand-owned company, providing technical and software solutions to the utility, agricultural, and infrastructure industries. With over 100 years servicing these sectors, ADR takes prides in supplying innovative and practical technical solutions to clients in New Zealand and throughout the Pacific Islands.

Last year the business made a series of acquisitions which broadened and strengthened their presence in the market. With over 120 staff across the country and a head office based in Wellington, ADR are continuing to grow to new heights, and are looking for an experienced and engaged HR Advisor to join the team.

This opportunity has come up as the current HR Advisor is moving on to a new challenge.

This is a dynamic and varied sole-charge generalist position with a company committed to growth and innovation. ADR can offer a competitive bonus scheme, your own (recently renovated) office, a friendly and relaxed working atmosphere, and an opportunity to step into a business-critical people management role working with a high-performing executive team.

The HR Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Leading all HR, HSE and payroll functions for the business in a dynamic and people-facing role;
  • Supporting a strong company culture with a track record for retaining talented staff;
  • Advising leaders and managers on a range of HR matters to continue driving innovation and success within the business.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • HR generalist experience, with a background advising on day-to-day HR matters;
  • A passion for coaching and working with managers to ensure both people and business objectives are met;
  • An up to date working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation;
  • A background advising on Health, Safety and Environment matters, and a commitment to fostering a positive HSE culture from the top-down;
  • Experience delivering a seamless payroll process for staff, and supporting staff with any payroll queries.

Joining a passionate and engaged team, you will be proactive, approachable, and assertive. Ideally, you will have experience working as an HR generalist in a sole-charge environment.

Please note that a credit check, criminal check, and driver's license check will be completed as part of this recruitment process.
