About the company

For a global company that operates in the freight industry we are looking for a Service Delivery Manager. You’ll need to plan, support and deliver IT services and manage a large vendor for the 1st and 2nd line support and internal stakeholders. The team operates across Australia and New Zealand and in New Zealand this will be a stand alone position.

Role purpose

The Service Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the service being delivered by the appointed field services provider. This is key role will which needs to ensure effective delivery of the services provided by the field services provider.

Familiarity of service delivery of an external vendor is a key requirement, as is a good understanding of project delivery. While the role is not a technical hands-on role, it will require solid technical capability and understanding to effectively oversee and manage the activities undertaken by the service provider. Your strong understanding of desktop and infrastructure environments will support this.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Business Partner / Head of IT Business Partner to ensure service requests and/or requirements (either business as usual or project related) are adequately understood, scoped and prioritised
  • Maintain daily contact with the field service provider to align prioritisation of service requests with service provider resourcing capability to deliver against the requests.
  • Act as the liaison/conduit between the business partner/requestor and the field services provider, providing point of escalation  Maintain ongoing familiarisation with the scope of work and services being undertaken by DXC
  • Co-ordinate the planning of Install, Move, Add and Change (IMAC) activities
  • Provide oversight of all delivery, execution and service provision activities
  • Manage vendor services levels to ensure consistent delivery to agreed performance standards, through shaping and guiding views to achieve vendor contracted deliverables and outcomes.

Skills set

  • At least a few years’ experience with service management, stakeholder management and vendor management
  • Infrastructure service management support experience in an organisation of a similar size
  • Understanding of project management and the ability to concurrently oversee multiple service requests via a vendor service offering
  • Experience managing a contracted vendor service including SLA’s
  • Understanding and management of prioritisation and workloads
  • Familiarity of service delivery of an external vendor
