job description

I am working with a school in Christchurch to source an experienced Mathematics and Physics teacher for their year 9-13 students.

About the School:

This school excels in a holistic learning approach, focusing on well-being and identity strengthening in the classroom. They achieve this with a balance of written and practical educating to assist all learners. The school believes a combination of creativity, imagination and skill-based rigour help to achieve a students transformation from child to adult.

About the Position:

You will be required to teach Physics and Mathematics to students ranging from years 9-13, with lessons based on the Steiner curriculum. Specifically, you will have experience in the following subjects:

  • Hydralulics
  • Heat and Energy
  • Electricity and Magnetism
  • Surveying
  • Partical and Atomic Physics
  • Optics
  • Astronomy

You will also be enthusiastic about participating in the schools extracurricular activities.

About You:

You will have a creative, positive and imaginative personality, with the ability to provide enriching learning environments for your students. You will either be Steiner trained, or have experience in a holistic learning environment. You will be relationship-focused, valuing the relationships you have with your students, their whānau and the wider community.

You also must have your New Zealand teachers registration, and have eligible work rights. This position does not provide sponsorship.
