Position: Policies & Regulatory Compliance Manager

Reports To: General Counsel

Location: Wellington

Closing Date: Friday, 6th December 2019, 5pm

Purpose of the role

The Policies & Regulatory Compliance manager works collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organisation to support the policy programme. The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain governance structures for policy and regulatory compliance functions;
  • Support and establish relationships with various stakeholders throughout the organisation;
  • Communicate with document owners during general refreshes of policies, standards, guidelines and procedures, when required by lifecycle or legislative changes;
  • Liaise with internal legal teams to coordinate the assessment of new NZ legislation impacts across a wide range of areas (i.e. Health and Safety, Employment, Privacy, Fair Trading, Whistleblower) and integrating into policy and regulatory compliance management; and
  • Undertake continuous improvements to enhance policies, tools and processes concerning measuring compliance in line with best practice.

Skills and Experience Required (summary below, see position description for further detail)

  • Demonstrable experience in a compliance assurance type role;
  • Possess a strong knowledge of risk frameworks, policy and regulatory management;
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to tailor communications and meet audience needs;
  • Successful track record in implementing robust internal controls;
  • Strong influencing skills.
