job description

Randstad Project Services are currently looking for a Portfolio Manager for a permanent position with a public sector.

This diverse and interesting role has a number of components to it including Portfolio Management and investment guidance, advisory services for business stakeholders and delivery staff. As an advisor, you will assist with coaching and mentoring delivery teams, presenting regularly to interested members from the organisation, keen to understand and further develop their knowledge of P3M3, and have a sound understanding of the organisations frameworks and confidently consult with the business on their use within initiatives and formalised projects. You will also consult with a Portfolio within the business, assisting with business planning, prioritisation and benefits management.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced and confident individual who has excellent relationship management skills, an ability to provide insights to the wider business, and a proven ability to coach and mentor in the P3M3 space. You will have preferably worked at portfolio level and be comfortable with conversations with senior leaders. You will have a sound understanding of frameworks and methodologies, particularly fit for purpose methodologies. You will consider yourself an excellent relationship builder, gaining buy in and trust from your stakeholders, whether they be an audience experienced with projects or not, and work with them to find a mutually beneficial solution. You will be confident in presenting either one on one or to a group and enjoy understanding the wider business and helping them to achieve their strategic goals.
The role itself offers the individual an opportunity to develop and utilise a wide range of skills in the portfolio space. The team itself is one based on open communication and collaboration.
