Randstad are now looking for a Strategic Finance professional to join an extremely dynamic public sector organisation in a Principal Advisory position on a permanent basis. The role, which sits in the funding and performance team, would enable you to have a real effect on the strategic direction of the organisation.You will be providing senior leadership up to Ministerial level with strategic insight on over organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop strategies in order to improve baseline performance
  • Develop new initiatives to demonstrate optimal use of resources and a return on investment
  • Analyse internal data for strategically significant trends
  • Produce top quality reports, such as cost benefit analysis of initiatives in accordance with internal and external requirements.
  • Liaise with the Treasury on external budget requirements and Cabinet papers.
  • Lead the preparation of briefing material for the leadership team and Ministers on budget strategy and bilateral meetings.
  • Lead the development of funding scenarios and identify requirements for proposed business initiatives.
  • Take a leading role in coaching and mentoring the programme teams.
  • Actively identify and manage risks alongside proposing mitigation where necessary.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders such as budget managers and external agencies and vendors.



Qualification Requirements:

  • A CA qualification or equivalent.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as Business/Finance/Accounting/Finance/Policy or Commerce.
  • A strong understanding of policy development processes, Parliamentary processes and workings of legislation.
  • Experience of working in a similar role in the public sector.
