The logistics Procurement & Vendor Manager will be focused on the day to operations, driven by strong leadership, change management, organisational design and industry sector expertise to further integrate, position and develop the functions in a holistic and cohesive business unit that enable and drive the required growth targets the organisation has set for the business unit.

Fundamental to the role would be:

- Design and develop category development and management strategies/activities for the various Logistics categories, and implement across the division for the purposes of enabling the critical focus areas of the logistics business unit.
- Identify and develop in-source Logistics opportunities.
- Ensure, drive, implement and support holistic compliance (Legislated, Policy and Code of Conduct)
- Design and develop continuous improvement processes under vendor manage model, working cohesively across other departments.
- Support operational procurement processes to improve the functioning and efficiency of procurement across all divisions for logistics and related services.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with operational contacts (BU’s, fleet operational etc.)
- Ensure compliance across operations to negotiated agreements and KPI targets.

Other key areas:

  • Logistics Network optimisation: Data driven approach to develop and implement strategy to improve network performance through commercial and service models.
  • Sourcing Engagement:Support and Manage sourcing for logistics spend, establish and communicate strategic direction
  • Quality / Procurement Compliance: Ensure successful roll out of procurement initiatives to improve operational purchasing performance.
  • Vendor Scorecard:Drive and Meet Metrics & KPI’s with a balanced scorecard. Cost reductions/ avoidance, DPO, Supplier Rationalisation, % of spend managed in line with category strategy.

The role requires an individual with strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills. Effective at building and maintaining both internal and external relationships. You will help drive change and bring innovation to the business and would therefore be required to influence and get buy-in to achieve the correct business outcomes.
