  • Role based in either Wellington or Auckland.

At Randstad we are working exclusively with a well known New Zealand business to grow their Commercial Procurement capability. A new structure will optimise the delivery of ICT services, strengthen their vendor relationships within the ICT Category.

About the role:

In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager of Technology, acting as a commercial procurement specialist you will identify and support the execution of the commercial / procurement initiatives and strategies in Technology spend areas within business. This is an organisation that will be going through a large Technology Transformation. In the role you will be collaborating with the various technology teams to gain a solid understanding of their goals and deliver outcomes for these to be achieved! As this position is based within the procurement team there will be a large focus on optimising the commercial and economic performance of Technology within the business

As the Procurement Specialist for technology you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders in Technology on projects deliver business outcomes with quality products and services while focusing on optimising cost
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to enable the Technology Transformation
  • Support the design of new or utilise the existing procurement framework
  • Work in collaboration with the Commercial Manager of Technology to drive an economic commercial strategy moving forward

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in leading contract negotiations for complex ICT projects
  • Have an in-depth understanding of commercial procurement processes and systems
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ICT procurement and contracts, including legal risks
  • Have a solid understanding of ICT trends, the market and key vendors
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of business economics modelling, analytics tools and methodologies
  • Strong commercial acumen in disciplines surrounding procurement and business engagement
  • Broad knowledge of ICT environments, business practice and systems
  • Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
  • An attitude of evolution within a business focussed on embedding a change philosophy around performance
