I am supporting a very exciting and high profile government agency who are small but will make a mighty impact to the lives of all New Zealanders.

My client is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join on a 6 month fixed term contract. The role will suit a true all rounder who is able to contribute to lifting the strategic approach to procurement as well as being capable and willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the doing.

These positions are hard to come by and the opportunity it provides to the right person is exciting!

Position Purpose

• Support business outcomes by contributing to the execution of procurement activities, and supporting key initiatives as directed;
• Development and execution of procurement processes and supplier relationship management functions to support and deliver on a range of desired outcomes;
• Effective operation of the Procurement function, utilising procurement processes, procedures and toolkit to deliver good practice procurement, sourcing and commercial supplier management.
• Production of procurement documentation reflecting our business requirements, challenges and opportunities.
• development and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders across the various business units, suppliers and the market to assist the delivery of strategic and operational business requirements;

What does the ideal candidate bring to the role?

• 3-5 years procurement experience
• A mix of public and private sector experience
• A willingness and experience working in an agile environment
