The client is an expert consultancy with a vast amount of experience all under one roof. Their client base consists of private and public sector clients with a wide variety of projects ranging from commercial, healthcare, government, education, hospitality and Iwi.

The Opportunity

The Client is seeking an experienced Project Director to be based in Auckland region. Candidates must demonstrate sound experience in commercial construction projects and successful candidates will have prior experience managing a team of Project Managers. This client is well known for supporting learning and development and having clear progression pathways.

This role is ideal for somebody that can hit the ground running and has 7 years + experience as a Project Manager. If you started your career in a different part of construction, this is not a problem as this company welcomes people from a broad range of experience. This client offers successful candidates a competitive salary with an attractive package.

Duties Include:

  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing requirements
  • Effectively apply our project management and planning methodology
  • Manage resources in conjunction with managers, and manage day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope
  • Regularly coordinate and liaise with clients to ensure briefs are being met to time, cost and quality parameters
  • Effectively manage project risk through mitigation planning.
  • Facilitate and hold regular team and client meetings effectively, keeping Directors informed of project progress and cost status.
  • Actively seek out new work opportunities

As well as prior experience, the Client is seeking candidates who are positive and forward thinking.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a project management role
  • Strong communication skills to maintain working relationships with all stakeholders, with an ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Industry related qualifications
