They’ve created a new position for a Senior Database Analyst to join the team in Auckland CBD. Using bleeding edge technology, trusted data and innovative analytics, they are able to provide insights that helps its customers make informed decisions.

The Role

Reporting to the Data Architect, you will be responsible for publishing, creating and enhancing Logical and Physical Data Models and dictionaries for use by internal stakeholders, to support IT Projects, application enhancement and business reporting needs. With a database that contains employee data from more than 6,600 employers, you will determine data quality and provide suggestions to improve the data as well as investigating production issues.

The Person

You probably worked in the financial, insurance or utilities industry and used to working with large data sets analysing data using SQL and Excel. You need to have high data integrity with strong attention to detail and able to spot unusual trends and solve issues. Ideally, you are not shy with giving recommendations on improvements to data management disciplines, standards, techniques, etc.

The Requirements

  • Strong SQL and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of database design, modelling and reporting
  • Experience with large DB2 databases and understand how to work with legacy systems
  • Advocate for data accuracy in terms of maintaining database architecture, structures, tables, etc.
  • Tertiary qualified in Statistics, Economics, Finance or IT.
