Senior Draftsperson

  • Minimum 5 years ArchiCAD experience
  • Residential projects experience is essential
  • Produce working drawings suitable for building and resource consent

This company has a strong name in the residential construction market. They have been successfully operating for over 20 years and they pride themselves on the high-quality homes they build and the exceptional customer service they provide.

The opportunity has arisen for a Senior Draftsperson to join the business. You will be joining a small close-knit team of sales, construction, quantity surveyors and directors; all providing a wealth of experience and knowledge in the residential construction industry.

This role is for a draftsperson that has a minimum 5 years practical work experience. You will be working on design and build projects completing working drawings for council using ArchiCAD.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years working experience as a Draftsperson / Technician
  • Knowledge of and experience in the New Zealand Residential construction industry
  • Experience in preparing working drawings in previous role
  • Experience using ArchiCAD
  • Experience in residential projects
  • Wind and earthquake bracing designs
  • Relevant industry qualifications
  • Be systems orientated and can work efficiently
  • LBP 2, will consider LBP1

Duties:

  • Produce high quality preliminary, final drafts and contract plans
  • Produce working drawings suitable for building consent and resource consent
  • Compilation of building consent and resource consent packs
  • Manage Council RFIs to gain relevant consents in a timely manner
  • Design new standard plans including quality 3D concepts in line with company templates
  • Management of sales drawing template system templates and ongoing training of Consultant’s use of drawing programs
  • Work within agreed timeframes, project specifications and set budgets
  • Liaise with relevant councils as needed
  • Produce home designs and details compliant with NZS 3604, BRANZ approved and Company accepted practices.
  • Monitor and update company templates, details and checklists as necessary
