    We currently have a great opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst position in a government organisation that strives to make a difference for people. Based in Wellington CBD on an hourly rate 6 Month Contract, this role will give you the opportunity to play a key part in the visualisation of data that drives high level strategic decisions within the organisation.

    You will have a strong background in preparing financial dashboards, modelling and analysis within complex environments and a depth of experience around macros doubled with advanced excel skills. This contract will provide you with the opportunity to lead, mentor and drive initiatives working closely alongside the team lead.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare monthly packs and forecasting dashboards using existing financial models.
    • Improve the internal business units financial reporting through collaborating with business units to improve the standard of best practice across the organisation.
    • Recognise and drive process improvements and change management opportunities, particularly relating FMIS, reporting tools and enterprise technologies.
    • Provide analysis within Budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting while seeking to develop and enhance capital expenditure planning processes and tools.
    • Evaluate capital business cases while maintaining capital expenditure and cash flow forecasts.
    • Support and mentor junior team members, providing advice and guidance to ensure quality outcomes.

    Key Requirements

    • Advanced Excel and Modelling skills
    • Power BI and/or SAS experience desirable
    • 4+ years in accounting or relevant experience
    • Relevant background in finance/economics/data etc
