job description

The suitable safety professional will be focused on:

  • Operational Health & Safety: Lead, advise and coordinate the departmental Health and Safety Advisors to deliver site´s health and safety strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of strategic objectives and health and safety awareness programs to be carried out each year delivering consistent and collaborative messages, while also advise and assist management to develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive ERP.
  • Documentation and RecordsManagement: You will ensure the organisation is HSNO Act compliance and that registers and controls are in place across all sites.
  • Responsibility for budget and Audits: Organize and conduct regular health and safety audits and workplace inspections across the mining operations.
  • Training and development: In conjunction with the Senior Training Advisor and as part of the Health and Safety Department support the achievement of all HST objectives, programmes and initiatives.
  • People Leadership: Understand the procedures and processes involved with managing people and apply them appropriately to different situations while having the capability to influence, drive change and communicate across various stakeholders.
  • Safety: Perform all work associated functions in terms of all requirements on site.
