Due to the growth within the region, this well established locally-owned engineering consultancy requires a competent and motivated Structural Design Engineer in their Blenheim office. They are looking for a technically oriented Structural Design Engineer with sound knowledge and experience.

The company:

This consultancy provide civil, environmental and structural design services covering an extensive range of projects in roading and infrastructure for subdivisions and local authorities, geotechnical investigations, bridges, and marine and retaining structures, as well as industrial and commercial buildings, marine and domestic structures, foundations and fire reports. They also provide service in resource Consents, wastewater management, dams, irrigation and potable water supply, stream diversions and stormwater works, including providing expert evidence.

The Role:

The position has a primary focus on the residential market with the potential for the involvement in their commercial and industrial work also. The position includes the design of residential structures, including input at concept, preliminary and detailed design stages and includes on-site investigation and construction monitoring of the structures that are designed. The successful candidate will enjoy working on an extensive range of projects, enjoy the challenges of utilising new technologies and problem solving involved in producing the latest technical designs.

The ideal candidate requires:

  • BE (Hons) specialised in Civil/ Structural engineering
  • Proven experience with NZ codes and standards
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • The desire to learn and adapt
  • Excellent communication
  • Good time-management
  • Experience with ETABs and Microstran
