Technical Lead - Software - C / C++ - Auckland (North Shore)

About the Company

Due to a new product line and an increase in connective display feature research, this international engineering business with a presence on almost every continent on the planet are now looking for a Technical Leader to come on board and join their team based on Auckland’s North Shore. They design and develop some of the most advanced electrical and navigation equipment available on the market within their space and have a very strong, respected global brand where innovation is key to their success.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary product team producing detailed delivery estimates and plans for assigned projects and track the delivery
  • Line manage and provide technical guidance and mentoring to the development team
  • Manage risks and promptly communicate any deviances from the plan to the project stakeholders
  • Hands on software development including creation of system architectures and detailed designs
  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement of the businesses software development practices, processes and tools
  • Work closely with the Software Development Manager to understand resourcing and projects assignments for the team
  • Monitor and report on staff performance to the Software Development Manager

Experience & tech skills needed:

  • Minimum of 10 years commercial experience developing with C and/or C++
  • Experience (preferably) working with embedded platforms
  • Knowledge of OO principles and modern software engineering practices
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior member of a development team (this can be done in an official or unofficial capacity)
  • Proven experience of being able to effectively plan and deliver on software engineering projects
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Polished communication/interpersonal skills
