Wellington Transport Operations Centre (WTOC) are the eyes, brains and heart behind New Zealand's roads. They help road users have a safe and enjoyable journey and facilitate smarter travel choices when heading out on the road.

WTOC have exciting opportunities to join their vibrant team in a full time capacity, working 40 hours per week. The hours will be on a roster basis, working 9 hour shifts during either the day, afternoon or night.

As a TOC Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Observing live feed from CCTV cameras across the country and monitoring traffic flow
  • Quickly responding to incidents and events on state highways and motorways across the South Island and Lower North Island
  • Updating live road/motorway electronic signage and web updates using the latest technology
  • Ensuring that road users and motorists have reliable information that will allow them to plan their travels safely.

Please note:

  • You must have the ability to work across all shift times
  • You must have a clear criminal history and pass a Police and Ministry of Justice check
  • You must be a NZ citizen or NZ resident
  • A full and clean driver’s license is required
