Head of Portfolio

  • Auckland Central location
  • Competitive salary on offer
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management (Financial Services industry experience strongly preferred)

The Head of Portfolio will be responsible for the strategic planning and management of the entire product portfolio. This will range from focusing on ways to grow revenue and optimise existing products to coming up with innovative, new products and diving into untouched markets. Leveraging true end-to-end thinking and the ability to understand current and future market needs will be critical to this role’s success!

In addition to this, the Head of Portfolio will lead a team of product managers, develop visions and growth strategies in order to continue strengthening this businesses presence in the market. Through your leadership and coaching abilities, you will help develop the next level of leaders within this organisation, always having a keen focus on development plans and stretch goals for your team members!

Essential skills required:

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management (Financial Services industry experience strongly preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in coaching/leading medium to large sized teams
  • A strong understanding of best practice Product Management methodology (preferably based on Pragmatic Marketing)
  • Proven track record in assessing market opportunities and developing growth strategies
  • Ability to relate to and identify solutions for customers based on their needs
  • Experience in identifying, building and executing product roadmaps
  • A strong understanding of pricing as a function of product
  • Commercially astute and analytical in nature
  • Ability to work effectively across departments, levels and geographies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate with the stakeholders and coach the teams
  • Experience leading teams and managing their priorities
  • Understands the technical consumption challenges and barriers that customers will face in utilising bureau services
  • Ability to liaise and manage multiple stakeholders and drive outcomes from resources that do not have a reporting line to the role
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to confidently and professionally engage with customers or external partners/suppliers
