  • Role based in either Wellington or Auckland.

At Randstad we are working exclusively with a well known New Zealand business to grow their Commercial Procurement capability. A new structure will optimise the delivery of ICT services, strengthen their vendor relationships within the ICT Category.

About the role:

In this role you will be reporting to the Corporate Senior Corporate Manager, acting as a corporate procurement specialist you will identify and support the execution of the commercial / procurement initiatives and strategies across the business (Marketing, HR, Travel, Print, Property, Facilities, etc. This is an organisation that focuses on collaboration. In the role you will be working closely with key stakeholders across the business to gain a solid understanding of their goals and deliver outcomes for these to be achieved! As this position is based within the procurement team there will be a large focus on optimising the commercial and economic performance of the business.

As the Procurement Specialist, Corporate you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders in the organisation to deliver business outcomes with quality products and services while focusing on optimising cost
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Support the design of new or utilise the existing procurement framework
  • Work in collaboration with the Commercial Manager, Corporate to drive an economic commercial strategy moving forward

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in leading contract negotiations for complex projects
  • Have an in-depth understanding of commercial procurement processes and systems
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of procurement and contracts, including legal risks
  • Have a solid understanding of market trends and key vendors
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of business economics modelling, analytics tools and methodologies
  • Strong commercial acumen in disciplines surrounding procurement and business engagement
  • Broad knowledge of corporate environments, business practices and systems
  • Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
  • An attitude of evolution within a business focussed on embedding a change philosophy around performance
