ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise-grade cloud ecosystem in Wellington. You will be responsible for building a robust, secure foundation that empowers development teams to deploy at scale while maintaining strict adherence to New Zealand government security standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement scalable Azure Landing Zones using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform).
- Drive large-scale cloud migrations and application modernisation projects across the enterprise.
- Manage complex hybrid networking, identity services, and core infrastructure across environments.
- Maintain and optimise Citrix App Farms integrated within the Azure cloud ecosystem.
- Automate governance and compliance through enterprise-wide Azure Policy and security guardrails.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimise Azure-based solutions tailored to clients' needs.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven expertise in Azure cloud migrations and modernising legacy application architectures.
- Advanced skills in hybrid networking, identity management, and core infrastructure integration.
- Hands-on experience managing Citrix App Farms, ideally within an Azure environment.
- Expert proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Extensive experience implementing security controls within government or highly regulated sectors.
- Strong background in DevOps practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Must hold a current NZ Confidential Security Clearance.
