Job Description
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Conservation Coordinator to help us protect and restore the incredible natural beauty of Auckland's Regional Parks! Job Details:
- Employment Type: Temporary for 12 months
- Location: Potential North Shore, or West Auckland offices
- Hourly rate: $30ph - $35ph + 8% holiday pay
- Start Date: ASAP
What You'll Do:
This role is critical to the successful delivery of our pest plant and animal control and ecological restoration projects. You'll be the central point of coordination, ensuring our conservation efforts are effective, timely, and aligned with our environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Senior Rangers to develop detailed project specifications.
- Develop, agree upon, and implement annual work plans for assigned projects.
- Coordinate the services, materials, and resources needed for various conservation projects.
- Oversee contractors, staff, and volunteers, ensuring projects meet agreed-upon standards and achieve desired results.
- Ensure all project reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.
- Foster and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and colleagues.
About You:
You're a strategic and analytical thinker with a passion for conservation and a drive to learn and grow. You're a natural relationship builder who is committed to a continuous improvement mindset and an outcomes-focused approach.
To be eligible for this role, you should have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as ecology, conservation, or management.
- Ideally some practical experience in a pest plant/animal management or ecological restoration role.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills.
- A current and valid New Zealand driver's license.
- Drug screen required if successful
