Data Engineer - Auckland

The Opportunity
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the underlying data application, and components that enable digital products to operate reliably and securely. You will contribute to the vision of the Platforms and Engineering Services Team and help improve operations and delivery efficiency through modern practices. The team operates on a hybrid model, offering flexibility. The role is highly collaborative, requiring you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, platform engineering, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Build products and services with a self-service focus to enable the organisation's strategic delivery.
- Operate and support these platforms and products while maintaining their lifecycle.
- Ensure that the design, implementation, and scalability of solutions are fit for purpose and compliant with company policies and standards.
- Proactively improve data platform capabilities by implementing new practices, tools, or approaches.
- Support and/or deliver projects that align with the organisation's strategy.
Skills Needed
- Experience with MS SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Proven experience with Snowflake.
- Strong experience with ETL pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory.
- Expertise in CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
While the requirements above are essential, any experience with DBT or Oracle databases would be a plus.
