Are you a clear writer, a calm communicator, and a natural problem solver who thrives in gray areas? We are looking for an Investigator to join a supportive, highly collaborative operations team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
In this autonomous role, you will take ownership of your own caseload—managing around 5 new cases a week—to independently investigate and resolve customer feedback and complex inquiries.
What You’ll Do
- Investigate & Manage Caseloads: Self-allocate incoming cases, review prior interactions, contact involved parties directly via phone or email to gather missing perspectives, and navigate ambiguous situations using independent judgment.
- Communicate & Write Clearly: Deliver impartial, plain-English guidance and draft high-quality formal written decisions and case summaries.
- De-escalate & Mediate: Use active listening, effective questioning, and conciliation techniques to de-escalate challenging conversations and deliver tough news with empathy and objectivity.
What We’re Looking For
- Analytical & Writing Skills: Exceptional written communication with the ability to interpret detailed information and write clear formal documents.
- Resilience & Impartiality: Comfortable navigating high-conflict, complex conversations while remaining cool under pressure, objective, and fair.
- Relevant Experience: Backgrounds in community law, regulatory environments, mediation, or investigative roles perform exceptionally well here.
Work Environment & Perks
- Workplace Flexibility: 37.5-hour work week with flexible start/finish times and a hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 days working from home after training).
- Great Culture & Benefits: Dog-friendly office, bookable parking, Friday social drinks, personal development funding and formal qualification pathways.
At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
