What you'll do:
As the Payroll Technical Lead, you'll be the go-to person for all things payroll systems and technical advice. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Holidays Act Remediation: A major focus of this role is recalculating historical leave entitlements for current and former employees, ensuring compliance with the Holidays Act 2003. You'll prepare documentation for approval, create upload files for payments, and maintain detailed records for audits.
- System Support: You'll ensure the HRIS and its integrated systems run effectively, performing quality assurance to maintain data integrity and supporting system upgrades. You'll also provide guidance and training to the payroll team and system users during changes.
- Expert Advice: You'll act as a key point of escalation for complex payroll queries and provide expert technical advice to the payroll team and the wider business. You'll also develop and maintain payroll reports to support decision-making.
Who we're looking for:
- You'll need at least three years of experience in payroll operations or remediation projects, with an extensive understanding of the Holidays Act and other relevant employment legislation.
- Experience in a payroll/HRIS role within a large, complex organization.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining payroll processes and resolving complex payroll problems.
- Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and detail-oriented approach.
