The Opportunity
This is an ideal role for a seasoned practitioner responsible for end-to-end procurement, from initial strategy to contract management. You will use your deep expertise to lead critical projects, navigate complex government rules, and mentor a team to achieve the best commercial outcomes. Our client is looking for a leader who is not only a technical expert but also a strategic thinker who can work well under pressure and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement life cycle, including strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and robust contract management.
- Proactively identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks, while also championing innovative approaches to procurement.
- Skillfully extract and interpret information from a diverse range of stakeholders, including those who may be difficult to engage, to deeply understand their requirements.
- Mentor and support the team, providing guidance based on your extensive lived experience to help them develop their skills and deliver strong commercial results.
- Leverage your deep understanding of government procurement regulations to effectively navigate processes and find pragmatic solutions.
Your Skills and Experience
- You are a seasoned practitioner with a proven track record of managing complex, end-to-end procurement processes within a government context.
- You possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise with a reactive and calm approach.
- You demonstrate an ability to develop and implement diverse processes while always identifying and managing risk.
- An exceptional communicator who can effectively engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
