We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Administrator to jump straight in and provide hands-on commercial support to our Commercial Manager on a temporary basis.
Because this is a short-term contract, we are not looking for someone who checks every single box—just a solid practitioner with relevant QS experience who can hit the ground running and keep things moving smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing (High-Level Overview)
Working alongside the Commercial Manager, you will assist with the core commercial tasks across active construction projects:
- Tendering & Procurement: Help request, evaluate, and compare subcontractor quotes and draft basic subcontract agreements.
- Cost & Variation Management: Review and assess subcontractor variations and assist with monthly payment claims.
- Financial Tracking: Support the team with basic project cost tracking, monthly drawdowns, and job close-outs.
- Commercial Support: Assist the Commercial Manager and Project Managers with general day-to-day contract and financial administration.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Contracts Administration in commercial/industrial construction.
- Familiarity with commercial construction processes, trade packages, and managing subcontractor agreements.
- Tech-savvy (experience with systems like Procore or CostX is a bonus, but strong general proficiency works).
- Good clear communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
- Availability to start immediately.
