The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Project Manager to lead a critical workstream within a flagship government programme. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Policy Development and Implementation. You will be responsible for ensuring that legislative and policy shifts are effectively translated into operational processes, ensuring the agency remains compliant and future-ready.

Successful candidates will have…

• Proven Public Sector Expertise: Extensive experience managing large-scale projects within the NZ Machinery of Government.
• Policy-to-System Fluency: A demonstrated ability to manage projects where the primary driver is policy change or legislative reform.
• Agility & Resilience: The ability to hit the ground running in an established programme and provide immediate structure and leadership.
• Exceptional Communication: Skilled at translating complex policy concepts for technical teams and vice versa.
• Contractor Mindset: A results-driven approach with the focus required to meet mid-year delivery milestones.
