We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior Procurement / Commercial Specialist to drive transformation in our decentralised procurement environment within a dynamic public service organisation. This is a critical, high impact role. While operational procurement is decentralised, the central Procurement team is responsible for managing strategic plans, providing expert advice, and leading high value tendering and contract negotiation. This role is paramount to establishing the commercial rigour required to manage our diverse supply chain effectively.

You will be the expert in setting up and operationalising robust contract management processes. This includes ensuring billing accuracy, defining and monitoring performance KPIs/SLAs in contracts, and implementing a process for applying penalties where necessary. In addition you will be required to:
- Develop and implement a robust contract management framework to ensure consistent, effective management of all commercial contracts
- Identify, analyse, and review top strategic suppliers to set up a comprehensive engagement plan.
- Work with Senior Managers to manage high value contracts
- Provide high level commercial advice for complex, high risk procurement and contract activities. Lead sourcing, tendering, and negotiation activities for high value projects
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in setting up contract management and SRM processes. While some end to end procurement experience is beneficial, we are highly open to candidates who are largely focused on SRM and Commercial Management.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in setting up and operationalising comprehensive contract management and Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Strong background in commercial management, sourcing plans, negotiation, and monitoring performance
- Experience navigating and setting up commonalities across business units.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and operational procurement, preferably within large organisations.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement rules, probity requirements, and best-practice processes
