What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Specialist, you'll be instrumental in shaping and executing the organisation's most critical digital procurement activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Digital Procurement: Owning the entire procurement lifecycle for large digital systems implementations and projects, from strategy development and sourcing to contract management and transition.
- Tier 1 ICT Supplier Management: Strategically managing and influencing relationships with Tier 1 ICT suppliers, ensuring performance, compliance, and mutual success across both hardware and software domains.
- Expert Negotiation: Utilising your proven negotiation expertise to secure optimal commercial outcomes, mitigate risk, and achieve significant cost savings and value-add for the organisation.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Acting as a subject matter expert and mentor, providing guidance and coaching to junior Procurement colleagues to elevate capability across the team.
What You'll Bring
- Extensive experience in end-to-end procurement, specifically within a large-scale, complex organisation.
- Deep commercial expertise in procuring major ICT systems, including both large-scale hardware and complex enterprise software solutions.
- A track record of successfully managing tier 1 ICT vendor relationships and driving high performance through contract management.
- Exceptional skills in commercial negotiation and contract finalisation.
- A genuine aptitude for mentoring and developing procurement talent.
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment is advantageous but not essential.
