Role Details:
- Engagement: Full-Time, Permanent.
- Location: Auckland-based (Hybrid working with flexible hours).
- Target: Open to Wellington candidates ready to relocate to Auckland.
About the Role
This position is suited for an experienced developer who has managed the full mobile development lifecycle - from architecture decisions through to deploying a live app on both iOS and Android platforms.
You will co-lead the mobile app space alongside another experienced technical lead, working across consumer-facing applications operating at a significant national scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Delivery: Lead development utilizing React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.
- App Performance: Manage app performance, stability, and release quality from end to end.
- Engineering Standards: Define mobile engineering standards, testing methodologies, accessibility, and design systems.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with product, design, web, and platform teams on end-to-end feature delivery.
- Modern Tooling: Integrate AI tooling effectively as an accelerator, applying professional judgement to ensure code quality.
Skills and Experience Required
- Work Rights: A valid New Zealand work right is essential.
- Full Lifecycle Expertise: Extensive React Native experience, including a proven track record of deploying live applications to production environments.
- Technical Stack: Advanced TypeScript skills and a solid working knowledge of native iOS and Android environments. Expo experience is highly advantageous.
- Leadership Style: A calm, considered, and collaborative approach to peer leadership and team engagement.
