ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer focused on migrating a large-scale Cloud Data Platform from Azure to AWS. This is a delivery-focused role within an established Data and Integration team, contributing to the technical execution and long-term stability of the platform. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless cut-over while maintaining high standards for security, governance, and pipeline performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run end-to-end Snowflake migration activities from Azure to AWS environments.
- Implement Snowflake replication, cut-over strategies, and technical rollback procedures.
- Refactor and validate data ingestion pipelines and integration processes using dbt.
- Configure and validate security artefacts, RBAC models, and network connectivity.
- Provide hands-on support for system testing, UAT, and post-migration stabilisation.
- Collaborate daily with internal engineering teams to ensure knowledge transfer and delivery.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Expert-level hands-on experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale Snowflake implementations.
- Proven ability to manage Snowflake RBAC, security configurations, and cross-cloud replication.
- Advanced proficiency developing and deploying dbt models within enterprise data platforms.
- Strong Python skills for data engineering tasks, automation, and platform support.
- Prior experience executing large-scale cross-cloud migrations (ideally Azure to AWS).
- Demonstrated success working in embedded, collaborative co-delivery environments.
