About the role
As an Operations Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising and leading the day-to-day operations efficiently alongside other leaders within the business. This involves effectively and safely managing the operational activities by ensuring the key performance indicators are met, and the plant, equipment and fleet is serviced accordingly.
Duties
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running of Wellington site
- Sign in contractors and ensure team adherence to health and safety protocols
- Maintain and manage machinery, logging jobs for repairs
- Lead and support various projects, engaging and guiding the team
- Manage a team of 15-20 staff across warehouse, digitisation, admin, shred facility, and courier services
- Hire and on-board temporary staff for projects
- Travel occasionally to scope out jobs
Skills and experience
- Strong leadership experience with a proven track record
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and manage staff effectively
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Competent with administration tasks and computer savvy (Excel experience needed)
- Digitisation experience is a plus
- Real people person, able to adapt to different team dynamics and management styles
