The Financial Manager is responsible for the end-to-end statutory financial external reporting. This includes providing technical advice on internal policies and financial reporting standards and managing the external audit process, including risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Statutory Reporting:Coordinate and complete Group, parent, and subsidiary financial statements, including the statement of service performance. Manage the annual report publication, ensuring it is prepared, audited, and tabled in Parliament within legislative timeframes. Coordinate all interim and final external audits.
- Corporate & Management Reporting: Ensure high-quality corporate financial and management reporting, providing financial analysis and advice to business managers. Provide KPI, financial reporting, and variance analysis for internal (SLT) and external stakeholders.
- Planning & Budgeting: Coordinate the preparation of the business plan, annual consolidated budget, and capital budget. Prepare half-yearly forecasts in collaboration with the SLT and business managers.
Experience
- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with minimum 3 years post-qualification financial reporting experience.
- Proven skills in financial reporting with an in-depth understanding of accounting standards.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex accounting issues and write technical accounting memos.
- Excellent skills in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance reporting.
