Information Security Advisor
The Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Information Security Advisor to join one of the largest local authorities in the South Pacific. You will play a pivotal role in designing security controls for complex business solutions, ensuring they are integrated with Security Operations and aligned with enterprise standards. This is a strategic role focused on modernising security posture, formulating long-term roadmaps, and providing expert advice to safeguard against evolving threats.

- Focus: Control Design, Risk Management, and Security Strategy
- Environment: Agile Modern Delivery
About the Role
- Architectural Design: Design security controls for business solutions and contribute directly to Solution Designs.
- Risk Management: Employ risk practices to enable safe delivery and advise on mitigating actions against potential threats.
- Strategic Roadmap: Formulate and execute the Information Security Strategy and modernisation of controls.
- Technical Advisory: Work alongside Architects and Engineers to ensure solutions are integrated with Security Operations monitoring.
- Escalation Point: Serve as a crucial expert for Security Operations in handling intricate incidents and complex change requests.
- Assurance: Advise on security testing and assurance activities to ensure organizational security objectives are met.
Skills & Experience Required
- Extensive Seniority: Experience in Information Security, with design or consulting.
- Complex Contexts: Proven experience working within politically sensitive or highly complex organizational environments.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional ability to influence, negotiate, and build rapport with stakeholders across all organizational tiers.
- Agile Frameworks: Comprehensive grasp of modern delivery practices and design within Agile frameworks.
- Emerging Tech: Ability to remain abreast of industry trends in AI services and emerging technologies to align advice with a dynamic threat landscape.
- Qualifications: Tertiary-level qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or Law, supplemented by relevant industry certifications.
