MuleSoft Integration Engineer (Contract)
The Role
...
We are seeking multiple Intermediate to Senior MuleSoft Integration Engineers for initial 3-month contracts based in Auckland CBD. You will be joining a large, complex enterprise organisation to support a major company-wide HRIS transformation.
The organisation is retiring a bespoke legacy system and migrating a diverse, multi-site workforce to a modern SaaS workforce management platform. You will be responsible for building the critical integration pipelines, decoupling data from legacy databases, and ensuring seamless synchronization between the new SaaS platform and downstream systems (including identity, payroll, finance, and operational tools).
Key Duties
- Legacy Data Extraction: Untangle and extract employee, rostering, and organisational data from complex, bespoke internal systems.
- Data Transformation: Utilise DataWeave to map and transform non-standard legacy formats into the structured REST/JSON schemas required by the new SaaS platform.
- API Development: Design and build robust System, Process, and Experience APIs using Mule 4 and the Anypoint Platform.
- System Integration: Connect the new workforce management platform securely with downstream enterprise environments.
- Data Sync & Cutover: Implement batch processing and real-time event triggers, execute thorough integration testing, and manage error monitoring during the live cutover.
Skills & Experience Required
- MuleSoft Expertise: Proven track record delivering integrations using Mule 4 and the Anypoint Platform (Runtime Manager, API Manager, CloudHub) at an intermediate to senior level.
- DataWeave 2.0 Fluency: Strong capability in DataWeave 2.0, demonstrating skills in schema mapping, transformations, and error handling.
- Migration Experience: Crucial experience extracting data from bespoke, legacy, or on-premise environments and pushing it into modern cloud SaaS platforms.
- Domain Knowledge (Bonus): Previous exposure to HRIS, Workforce Management (WFM), or payroll system migrations is highly advantageous but not strictly required.
- Delivery Mindset: Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced contract environment and deliver clean, scalable integration pipelines.
Please Note: We are unfortunately unable to offer work visa sponsorship for this position, for overseas applicants. To be considered, you must currently reside in New Zealand and hold valid working rights.
