About the Role
Are you an experienced transactions specialist looking to step into a leadership role? As the Senior Transactions & Credit Officer, you will serve as the second-in-command (2IC) to the Transactions Team Leader. You will play a vital role in keeping financial operations running smoothly, taking ownership of debt management, handling overseas payment processing, and supporting process improvements across the team.
This is a dynamic position where your technical accuracy, process-driven mindset, and ability to foster strong relationships will make a direct impact on day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
... - 2IC & Team Support: Provide operational guidance, cover absences for team members, act as a subject matter expert, and support the Team Leader in driving process improvements.
- Debt Management & Credit Control: Oversee the end-to-end debt recovery process, liaise with customers on overdue accounts, manage debt collection agency referrals, send demand letters, and maintain the debtors ledger.
- Payment Processing: Manage accounts payable and payment runs in line with established schedules, process overseas invoices, and complete month-end supplier reconciliations.
- Purchase Card (P-Card) Management: Oversee the Flexipurchase system, issue and cancel cards, manage card limits, and ensure policy compliance across cardholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Review workflows, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and update desk documentation to streamline financial tasks.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: Strong background in accounting, transaction processing, and credit control/debt recovery.
- Systems & Data Literacy: Proven proficiency with complex financial systems (e.g., TechnologyOne or SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data reporting.
- Problem-Solving & Accuracy: Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven track record of delivering precise work under strict timelines.
- Relationship & Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to manage debt disputes constructively and collaborate across business units.
