The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Head of Wealth (New Zealand), you will act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team. You will be the architect of stability during a period of significant change, driving a "Project Meridian" scale initiative that will reshape how thousands of New Zealanders manage their financial future. This role offers a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of Strategy, Operations, and Technology, guiding the business through a critical platform decision and subsequent migration over the next 12 months.

The Role
In this position, you will move beyond simple task tracking to become the conductor of a complex delivery orchestra. You will have full end-to-end accountability for project planning, resource management, and execution within a matrixed environment.

Key Accountabilities:

• Strategic Project Execution: Take full ownership of high-value projects, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and meets rigorous quality specifications. You will navigate the complexity of platform obsolescence, leading the evaluation and transition to next-generation third-party solutions.
• Fund Installation Specialist: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of fund transitions. From formally documenting requirements and organizing workshops to managing the legal and operational nuances of moving Defined Benefit and Accumulation schemes between registries.
• Vendor & Partner Management: You will be the primary commercial interface with external partners, including Custodians, Insurers, and Technology Vendors. You will manage the friction between internal business needs and external delivery capabilities.
• Governance & Advisory: Act as the "conscience" of the project. You will proactively identify risks, create mitigation plans, and manage change requests to prevent scope creep. You will prepare and present steering committee packs that provide brutal honesty and clear paths forward for senior leaders.
• Matrix Leadership & Coaching: While you will have no direct line reports, you will lead and mentor a project team of 4–10 subject matter experts. Your ability to coach team members on project methodology and hold indirect reports accountable is critical to your success.

About You
You are a Critical Thinker who dissects issues to arrive at logical conclusions. You do not just accept the status quo; you assess unstated assumptions and drive for results with passion and resilience.

Essential Requirements:

• Deep Industry Expertise: You bring at least 5 years of dedicated experience within the Superannuation, Insurance, or Banking sectors. You possess a strong technical understanding of Defined Benefit plans, Pensions, and Fund Structures. Generic PM experience without this domain knowledge will not be suitable.
• Transformation Pedigree: You have a proven track record of managing outsourcing transitions or working with third-party registry platforms. You understand the mechanics of migrating data and operations from legacy systems to modern environments.
• Technical Mastery: You are exceptional with MS Project and the MS Office Suite. You combine formal methodology (PRINCE2/PMP preferred) with pragmatic, real-world application.
• Gravitas & Communication: You have the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and the empathy to bring a diverse team on the journey. You are a relationship builder who can navigate the political landscape of a global matrix organisation.
