Splunk SME – Contract Role - Auckland

Are you an experienced Splunk Subject Matter Expert (SME) ready to tackle your next contract? We're looking for an individual to join a dynamic team and take ownership of their Splunk infrastructure. This is a fantastic 12-month contract opportunity with a strong potential for extension, starting ASAP.
The person in this role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the entire Splunk environment. This includes ensuring the high availability of the system and managing security controls like user roles and permissions. You'll also work closely with various IT teams to resolve technical issues and build meaningful dashboards and reports that meet stakeholder needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Splunk infrastructure.
- Building meaningful dashboards and reports that meet stakeholder needs by leveraging various data sources.
- Administering security controls within Splunk, including user roles/permissions, SSL certificates, etc..
- Monitoring and tuning Splunk performance and performing capacity planning for its deployment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience as a Splunk Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining Splunk infrastructure.
- Experience with networking concepts like TCP/IP as they relate to logging.
- Knowledge of how to configure syslog inputs for various devices on multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows Server, and Cisco IOS-XR.
- The ability to create custom Splunk apps and add-ons using either SPL or Python is a plus.
