About the Role
I am looking for a Team Leader – Financial Accounting to lead a team of six in delivering core financial accounting, external reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, taxation compliance, and fixed asset management for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
... - Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and build a high-performing financial accounting team.
- Financial Reporting & Reconciliations: Lead external financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset management, and monthly Treasury submissions via CFISnet.
- Audit & Annual Processes: Coordinate annual reporting processes, external audit requirements, and ministerial information requests.
- Process Improvement: Identify risks and implement efficient financial controls and processes.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance and CAANZ (or equivalent) membership.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading, motivating, and developing finance teams.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of public sector accounting standards tax compliance, and the Public Finance Act.
- Systems & Data: Experience with financial management information systems and complex reconciliations.
- Stakeholder Management: Outstanding communication skills with experience engaging internal managers and external audit/government stakeholders.
